Allah SWT has made the life of Prophet Mohammad ﷺ perfect for whole mankind. There are little by little simple acts performed by Prophet Mohammad ﷺ; The character with a beautiful heart allows a man to achieve the satisfying state of heart. It makes him feel so relaxed and purified that it is impossible to explain it words. Prophet Mohammad ﷺ always put an emphasis on beautifying the character, Prophet Mohammad ﷺ said:

“Nothing is heavier on the believer’s Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character.” [Jami’ at-Tirmidhi]

‘Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said, “Allah does not look at your figures, nor at your attire but He looks at your hearts and accomplishments.”’ [Sahih Muslim]

Achieving the greater level of purity of heart is simple yet hard to practice. If you are being encountered with immoral thoughts; first of all, it is you that you take the step against it to escape the cage. This means that you must make an intention with all you heart to follow the next proceedings.

After making the intention try to keep yourself apart from immoral and unethical thoughts and practices as you already have made intention that you don’t want to keep yourself engaged in any type of immoral acts and practices.

The second step is beautifying the deeds; When you tend to focus on our own mistakes rather than others, you become conscious of all our deeds. Once you purify a vessel – here the vessel is our heart – we add good and beautiful things into it. So, add to your scales by beautifying every simple act in the best of ways and with excellence. Simple examples would be, easing the work for your workers with a smile, helping parents in little things without them asking you, or verbally forgiving someone when they have wronged you.

The third step is exploring Quran and try to learn Quran instead of reading only. Allah says in the Quran

“Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.” [Qur’an, Chapter 13, Verse 28]

Reciting and learning about Quran will surely purify your heart, it will make you intentionally remember Allah. If half an hour on Facebook passes as a breeze, then what about ten minutes to give to reciting the Qur’an for rewards, blessings, expansion of heart and time and inner peace?

The fourth step is once you spend time in remembrance of Allah with reciting Quran, make this your habit and try to remember him in all possible way. Praying 5 times a day will surely make you fond of remembering Allah but also try to add the additional ‘Zikr or Dikhr’ in your daily life to make sure that you don’t forget your creator in any part of the day.

Prophet Mohammad ﷺ

It is worth mentioning that Abud-Darda R.A reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Shall I not inform you of the best of your actions which are the purest to your Rub, which exalt you to the high ranks, which are more efficacious than spending gold and silver (in charity), and better for you than you should encounter your enemies whom you will smite their necks and they will smite your necks?” They said, “Certainly.” He (ﷺ) said, “Remembrance of Allah the Exalted.” [At-Tirmidhi]
